Greenville’s season, show by show, now through December.
A city this size has no business with this many stages. Poirot is boarding the Orient Express on College Street, the Peace Center has Broadway on the way, and December stacks up like a Main Street parking deck: a rockabilly Christmas, a White House farce, Oz, and two Nutcrackers a week apart. Here’s the season.
Greenville Theatre, 444 College St. Ken Ludwig’s adaptation of the Christie classic. Thom Babbes directs, Bruce Ladd is Poirot, and Craig Smith’s train sits on a 25-foot turntable. $40.
Centre Stage, 501 River St. The 24th year, and free: one staged reading a night at 7:30 of three finalist scripts — The Sugar Mountain Methodist Women’s Fashion Show, John Deserves to Die and This is the Subtext. One gets a full production in a later season. Centre Stage asks you to RSVP.
Gunter Theatre, Peace Center. Nightmare at the Museum returns with new characters and music — the company’s first Halloween under its new name. (It was Carolina Ballet Theatre until this year.) $55.
Peace Concert Hall. The Peace Center’s Broadway series brings Baby and Johnny to Main Street.
Alchemy Comedy Theater, 1 E. Coffee St. The 13th year of what Alchemy bills as the Southeast’s longest-running comedy festival.
